Extreme Brilliance…

Sometimes we come across something special here at fruit and we urgently have to let the world know. Last night as I was doing my regular browsing of lookbook.nu (its a great way to get style ideas) I came across something quiet astonishing, a 12 year old über style blogger called Tavi. Dressed in nu-rave meets coco chic she writes about her inspirations behind her style but also fiercely promotes her t-shirt brand which created under a collaboration with American brand ‘Borders&Frontiers’ is to raise money to help Darfur victims. The little girl has a comprehensive blog in which she refers to herself as ‘granny’ and ‘12-year old with the posture of a crotchety old hag’ has alot to say, she also goes onto say ‘…granny needs some non-caffeinated peppermint tea and a pack of mini muffins (Fat free, please, doc says it’s bad for my diet)’. Now, I understand that we live in a world where youth is fragile, advertising and media encourages children to look beyond their years and to grow up, but I as much as I admire Tavi and her astonishing articulation skills a part of me just wants the kid to put down the vintage pumps and go outside and play! She definatly shouldn’t be worrying about her calorie intake when she is a svelte as she is. But hey hey, thats the traditionalist within me.
If you want to delve into Tavi’s world then you can visit her blog ‘Style Rookie’ at http://tavi-thenewgirlintown.blogspot.com/. And remember whatever you decide about youngster she is still headlining an amasing cause (for her Bat Mitzvah don’t you know) Darfur is a volatile place and its victims are very real so she at the very least deserves kudos for highlighting their plight.
