The Bloggers shall inherit the Earth…

May 19, 2009

myeye2Have you ever had an amasing night out with your friends, partying till the wee hours and thought for example ‘what is the night life like in Tokyo?’ Well now you can find out! The accessibility of blogging has allowed us to expand our knowledge of the world and to participate in the Global Village. With blogging sites such as WordPress, Blogspot and Twitter to name a few, you can dip in and out of the lives of others with ease. Something which professionals and even commercial sites such as ASOS and Glasses Direct have picked up on. Journalists write about bloggers and bloggers write about their world, no more so that Ryo Nakagawa’s blog Tokyo Party Night.

Ryo is a commerical photographer living and working in Tokyo Japan, his images are explosions of colour and energy, a style which undoubtably he developed during his commissions for clients such as Dior Homme and Armani. His aim is to document the ‘real’ Tokyo and to reflect it inwards so that his peers can find enjoyment within their own culture, something he muses isn’t something which comes naturally to the Japanese. His candid visual blog of nights out and social scenes has gained a reaction from publications such as Peaches Geldof’s magazine Disappear Here as his blogging style follows the trend of blogs such as ‘I love glam’, another exploration of Japanese social lifestyle (http://iloveglam.wordpress.com). This emerging culture of magazines looking at blogs for information and inspiration has spread across the board, both Elle magazine UK and Harper’s Bazaar Singapore both reported on blogging in their April issue. Sites such as Fashionatiom.wordpress.com and even blogger Tavi’s site (http://tavi-thenewgirlintown.blogspot.com/) who yours truely reported on in April have been featured in the magazines and it looks like the love of blogs is here to stay, even designers such as Marc Jacobs have become part of the blogging phenomenon. So what are you waiting for? Join youtube or wordpress and get blogging or even vlogging, the world wants to know about you!
